Description

In January 2000, the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China provided an RMB 2 million grant to the Republic of Congo's Transitional Council for the Parliament Building Maintenance Project. This project involved the maintenance of air-conditioning units and elevators in the Parliament Building (Palais des Congrès) in the capital city of Brazzaville. This building was constructed with financial support from the Chinese Government in the 1980s. On May 5, 2005, China’s Ambassador to the Republic of Congo and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and French-speaking Affairs of the Republic of Congo Daniel OWASSA signed the project handover certificate.
