Full Description

Project narrative

On November 30, 2015, China deployed a team of 10 cardiovascular surgery specialists to Ghana's Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. There, they conducted surgeries and offered training to native surgeons. The team met with Business Counselor Li Jiang and Chinese Ambassador Sun Baohong upon arrival. The team spent two weeks in Ghana and was the first group of cardiovascular experts deployed by China to Africa. The team successfully completed 10 cases of miscellaneous cardiac surgery, 4 cases of pacemaker surgery, and 6 cases of mitral valve replacement.
