On April 18, 2017, the 5th medical team sent by the Chinese government arrived in Malawi for their mission. Each medical team to Malawi consists of 16 people that have been selected by the Shaanxi Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission. On April 18, 2018, the Chinese Embassy in Malawi held a ceremony congratulating the medical team on their year of work. Ambassador Wang presented the fifth batch of medical team members with an honorary certificate signed by the Ministry of Health of Malawi. The ceremony also inaugurated the sixth medical team as they began their mission.
