Description

The Chinese Government has been sending medical teams to Botswana since 1981. Fujian Province has been responsible for sending the teams. On November 28, 2017, the Chinese Government and the Government of Botswana signed a protocol agreement, officially dispatching the 15th medical team to Botswana. China’s Ambassador to Botswana Zhao Yanbo and Minister of Health and Wellness of Botswana Dorcas Makgato signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments in Gaborone. The 15th medical team consisted of 46 members who were stationed at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in the city of Francistown and Princess Marina Hospital in the city of Gaborone. 24 team members were assigned to work at Princess Marina Hospital, while the other 22 were assigned to work at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital. The team completed its term of service between April 5, 2018, and 2019.
