Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

Between May and June 2016, as part of the “Light Action” ("Action Lumiere") campaign, Chinese experts conducted 627 free surgery operations to Cameroonians suffering from cataracts. This project was funded by China and implemented in Cameroon through the Ministry of Public Health. The Gyneco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital of Yaounde and the Mbalmayo hospital were selected as managers of these surgeries (Cameroun Web). Numerous surgeries have been performed in African countries since the launch of China's China-Africa Brightness Action initiative in 2010. Eyebright Medical Technology, a Chinese company, provided the artificial lenses for a medical team in Cameroon. This project is completed.
