Description
In 2007, China Eximbank agreed in principle to provide a $160 million loan for the construction of two 400 kV substations on the Inga-Kinshasa electricity transmission line in Democratic Republic of Congo. China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) was identified as the contractor that would be responsible for project implementation. However, it is unclear if this project was ultimately financed by China Eximbank. According to a 2017 World Bank report, negotiations with China Eximbank on this project are still ongoing.
