Project narrative

In 2012, China granted Mali 400 million CFA Francs for the Sino-Malian cooperation solar energy pilot project in Kirina. The initiative would provide 300 photovoltaic solar panels to the village of Kirina, as well as training to village members to maintain and operate the solar devices. The project was implemented by China Geo-Engineering Corporation. The project has been completed, though exact start and end dates are unclear. This project was part of China's "Lighting the Villages" (or “照亮农村”) campaign.
