Project narrative

In 2017, the Chinese Government awarded 150 Zambian students various scholarships in China. Fifty-two students won the Chinese Government Scholarship, 6 won the Youth of Excellence Scheme of China (YES CHINA) Master Program, 9 won the Confucius Institute Scholarship Program, 50 students are on university-specific scholarships in varying subjects, and the last 33 accepted other, unspecified scholarship programs offered by the Chinese Government. At the time of the ceremony on 25 August 2017, Chinese universities were hosting 3,500 Zambian students and, in total, China had provided roughly 800 scholarships to Zambians over the years.
