On October 22, 2016, Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan He Xiangdong signed an agreement with South Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Deng Alor Kuol to donate CNY 5 million of anti-malaria drugs to South Sudan. China has donated several batches of anti-malaria drugs and equipment to South Sudan as a part of an initiative to eradicate the disease.
