Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 11, 2017, the Chinese Government provided $1 million in aid to the World Food Program to support WFP in food and nutrition to Central African refugees in eastern Cameroon. This donation purchased 900 tons of food supplies and materials. These supplies were handed over in Yaounde on August 11, 2017 from Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon Wei Wenhua to WFP Representative Abdullah Bard, to be distributed to the refugees. This donation was based on an agreement between the Chinese Government and WFP signed in May 2017 for the provision of $1 million in financial assistance to address the food shortages faced by refugees in Cameroon (FMPRC, UNOCHA: Financial Tracking Service Flow ID: 161854).
