Project narrative

In November 2003, the Chinese Government provided a loan worth RMB 132,096,618 (approximately 2.817 billion DJF) to the Government of Djibouti for the acquisition of new gantry cranes. According to a 2005 publication from the Djibouti's Ministry of Economy (p. 2), 100% of the loan was drawn down by the borrower. The borrowing terms of the loan are unknown. Implementation details are also unavailable.

The French project title is Acquisition de nouveaux portiques. The loan that supported this project is not included in the database of Chinese loan commitments that SAIS-CARI released in July 2020; however, it is included in official reporting by the Government of Djibouti.
