Description

In 2014, China established a medical campaign called “Light Operation” in Republic of Congo (中国“光明行”医疗援助项目). The project was implemented by the Tianjin Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission. After 2 years preparation, the project was launched in 2016. A team of Chinese doctors from Tianjin Eye Hospital will come to Congo to operate free of charge those suffering from cataracts and nearly 500 patients will be treated at the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital of M'Filou in Brazzaville and that of Loandjili in Black Point. On August 4, 2016, a team of 7 experts led by Dean Tang Xin of Tianjin Eye Hospital arrived in Congo (Brazzaville) to carry out the project. The program has an execution period of 40 days. The project started on August 24, 2016 and was completed on September 14, 2016. 512 cases of cataract recovery surgery were completed within 20 days.
