On 4 December 2009, the 15th Chinese medical team arrived to the Arta region of Djibouti to provide free outpatient services to the people there. The team consisted of 9 Chinese doctors, and the types of medical services that they provided were gynecology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, stomatology, radiology and acupuncture. This mission was the first time that the Chinese medical team had provided medical services to people outside of Djibouti's capital.
