On May 31, 2007, the Chinese Government and the Government of Ghana signed a $5 million grant agreement for the construction of student dormitories at the Labor College of the Organization of African Trade Union Unity in Accra. This project involved the construction of a student dormitory that can accommodate 170 students. It also involved the construction of classrooms, an administrative block, an auditorium and a library. The Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) was responsible for project implementation. China Foreign Construction Corporation and Qingdao Construction Company were also involved in project implementation. A groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 30, 2008. The project was completed on January 8, 2009.
