Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On January 13, 2012, China Hydropower Corporation (Power China) officially donated a water supply system at the Juba Primary School (later renamed China-South Sudan Friendship Middle School). The 132-meter deep water well served nearly 1,000 people around the school. The value of this project is unknown. The Chinese Government originally pledged to build this school in 2009, before South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in 2011. Construction was financed by a 8.6 million RMB grant (see Record ID#58811).
