Description

Following a tsunami on December 26, 2004, the Chinese Government pledged 2,850,000 CNY ($442,000) in emergency relief to Kenya. The aid was delivered by air on January 21, 2005, to Nairobi. The donated materials included 250 tents, 4000 towels, 350 generators, necessities, and medicine.

Additional details

A small separate donation to the sole tsunami victim's family was made on January 3, 2005 (see Project #60234).
