Project narrative

On May 22, 2018, the Chinese Government through China’s International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) provided a donation of 50 million Kenyan Shillings to the Kenyan government. The donation, via Kenya's Red Cross, was to assist in relief efforts following heavy flooding. According to the Red Cross, the rains began in late March, and led to the deaths of 120 people, as well as the displacement of 50,680 households or an estimated 271,000 people.
