Description
On April 12, 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital Phase II project was held. Phase I, which involved the construction of an outpatient building and an in-patient building with 100 patient-beds, was completed on November 16, 2011. Phase II was launched in 2016 to build dormitories, a kitchen, a warehouse, a road, retaining walls and medical auxiliary rooms. Top International Engineering Corporation (TIEC) was contracted to implement the project. The Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital Phase II project was financed through a 70 million Birr grant from the Chinese Government. Phase II was completed and handed over to the Ethiopian government on July 3, 2018. The hospital is located in in Akaki, around 25 km south of the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
