Project narrative

On February 7, 2018, the Chinese ECCO representative based in Zanzibar signed an agreement with representatives from Zanzibar Urban Municipal Council for Phase 2 of the Zanzibar street lights installment project. The project is implemented by Jiangsu Provincial Construction Group. On January 29, 2019, Xie Xiaowu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Zanzibar, visited the construction site to check in on the project's progress. On August 31, 2020, Consul General Xie Xiaowu in Zanzibar and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Zanzibar Hamis attended the completion ceremony of the aided municipal street light project in Zanzibar and cut the ribbon for the completion of the project.
