Project narrative

In September 2016, the Chinese government sent their 19th medical team to Ethiopia. The 19th team was a continuation of medical cooperation between Ethiopia and China since 1974. Comprising 16 medical professionals, the 19th team was headed by Zhang Xiaoyang. Members of the medical team were from China's Henan province. The team was based at the Tirunesh-Beijing Ethio-China Friendship Hospital on the outskirts of Addis Ababa. The medical team was scheduled to stay in Ethiopia for 385 days, providing free consultation and operations at Tirunesh-Beijing and other hospitals.
