Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On January 9, 2016, a Chinese military medical expert team was sent to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to complete a one-year medical assistance mission. This is the 2nd Chinese military medical team deployed to Ethiopia. The team consisted of nine members from nine departments of the Xinqiao Hospital, one of the three teaching hospitals affiliated to the Third Military Medical University. During their year-long mission, the Chinese medical team completed more than 1,400 cases of clinic treatment and more than 150 highly difficult surgeries. The team also held lectures regularly for Ethiopian military medical personnel and provided medical imaging examinations and health care services for Ethiopian military and government officials. The medical team returned to China on January 17, 2017.
