Description
In August 2017, the Chinese government sent their 20th medical team to Ethiopia. The 20th team was a continuation of medical cooperation between Ethiopia and China since 1974. Comprising 15 medical professionals and 1 translator, the 20th team was headed by cardiologist Zhao Cheng. The team was based at the Tirunesh-Beijing Ethio-China Friendship Hospital on the outskirts of Addis Ababa. Along with work at the Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital, the team has done medical treatments in more than 73 clinics and two Chinese companies. In November 2017, 10 medical team members provided services including mouth and respiratory organ treatments, eyes protection support and heart condition checkups to school children in Addis Ababa.
Additional details
The exact start and end dates for the 20th medical team are unclear, though the project has been marked as completed because the 21st medical team has begun work in Ethiopia.
