Description
According to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), the Chinese Government pledged to loan $10,543,156.37 for the construction of Kakobola dam (Chinese name: 卡考包拉电站) in 2010. However, as of May 2020, no disbursements have been made. According to a MOFCOM article published in November 2017, India is currently financing the construction of the Kakobola dam, and has provided $109 million in financing to the project. It is unclear if the Chinese Government has officially committed funding for this project. The French project title is Construction barrage Kakobola (Kakobola-Kikwit, Kakobola-Gungu, et Kakobola-Idiofa).
