Project narrative

On July 25, 2007, the Chinese government agreed to donate anti-malaria drugs worth 3,000,000 RMB to the Uganda Ministry of Health. On April 29, 2008, China handed over the anti-malaria drugs to Richard Nduhura, Uganda's Health Minister. The anti-malaria drugs were provided by Beijing Holley-Cotec Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. and Kunming Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. Between 2007 and 2009, the Chinese government donated anti-malaria medicine worth US $500,000 per annum through the ministry of health. This donation comes as a part of a Chinese initiative meant to help reduce the number of cases of malaria in Uganda.
