Project narrative

During the Forum of China-Africa Co-operation Summit (FOCAC) held in November 2006, the Chinese government committed to providing a first batch of anti-malarial drugs worth approximately US $250,000 to the Uganda Ministry of Health. The actual commitment was made on June 23, 2006. The Ugandan government records the actual disbursement as US $253,285.74, a total of two disbursements made in 2006 and 2007, respectively. This donation was also part of the three-day anti-malarial program held in Kampala (#34837). The batch was delivered in 2 segments: one on August 11, 2006 and the other on April 24, 2007. This project is linked to Record ID#63793, which details all of the malaria-related projects in Uganda funded by China.
