Description
On May 19, 2017, Egypt's National Organization for Military Production (NOMP) signed a cooperation protocol with the Chinese Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) to cooperate in the manufacturing of three-phase transformers, smart electricity, pre-pay counters, and high-voltage measuring devices. The two sides also agreed on the importance of expanding the cooperation between them to include research and development in the other fields in which DEC operates as well as in the joint manufacturing of smart meters, terminal controllers, protection circuits, and circuit breakers. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, NOMP will cooperate with the Chinese company to transfer technology, training of personnel, and cooperation in joint manufacturing.
