Project narrative

On March 27th 2019, Chinese government donated $10.4 million USD worth of emergency food aid to Uganda in Kampala. According to an article from New Vision, the donation comes in the form of 8,399 total tons of rice, delivered in 10 batches. Ambassador Zheng said that government decided to start rice distribution in Karamoja due to the high rate of famine and that other parts of the country will also be provided with the rice from China. The first batch, which was 500 tons of rice, was donated in January 2019. This is the third batch of emergency food aid that China donated to Uganda.
