Project narrative

On April 5, 2018, an award ceremony for the first batch of winners of the "Mei Gengnian Scholarship" was held. The award ceremony was held in tandem with a road dedication ceremony for Mei Gengnian In attendance at the award ceremony were representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia, including Ambassador Tan Jian. The Mei Gengnian Scholarship was established for students at the University of Jimma and is named after a famous Chinese doctor who was part of the first Chinese medical team sent to Ethiopia. In total 48 students were awarded the scholarship.
