Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On May 24, 2011, Mr. Wei Hongtian, Charge D’affairs of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia handed over a donation from the Embassy to H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nasser, President of the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State of Ethiopia, to support the construction of the rural roads in the State. The exact monetary value of the donation is unclear. An earlier news article from khl.com ("Ethiopia expands road network") indicates that China's Sinohydro Corporation was awarded a contract of ETB 502.8 million to construct roads in the region. It is not clear if this is a separate project.
