Project narrative

On July 28, 2016, Gabon's Ministry of Economy, Employment, and Sustainable Development signed an agreement with China's Ministry of Commerce to receive a grant of 5 million RMB to fund Gabon's Solar Energy Lighting Project. The grant is part of an economic and technical cooperation agreement China and Gabon signed on April 21, 2010. The objective of the project is to provide electricity to more of Gabon's citizens, particularly in villages. Chinese state owned company Poly Solar Technologies is responsible for the implementation of the project and began construction in April 2016. As of July 30, 2016, they installed 16 solar kits for public lighting, 35 solar kits of 300Wp, and 5 solar kits of 720Wp. The current status of this project is unknown.
