Description
Since 1977, Tianjin Province has been sending medical teams to Gabon. On July 28, 2011, the Chinese Government and the Government of Gabon signed a protocol agreement, dispatching the 17th Chinese medical team to Gabon. The team was stationed at the Sino-Gabonese Cooperation Hospital (Hôpital de la Coopération Sino-Gabonaise de Libreville) in the city of Libreville and the Sino-Gabonese Friendship Hospital (Hopital de L'amitie Sino Gabonaise) in the town of Franceville. The team completed its term of service between 2011 and 2013. The mission includes a team of 15 professionals in all medical specialties that will carry out diagnostic and therapeutic activities and train staff in the Sino-Gabonese hospitals of Bellevis in Libreville and of the Sino-Gabonese Friendship Hospital in Franceville. As part of the agreement, the Chinese government will annually donate drugs and medical supplies to the two hospitals.
