Project narrative

On June 14, 2011, a group of unspecified Chinese enterprises active in Ethiopia officially donated 1.81 million BR to Ethiopia Ministry of Finance and Development for the Renaissance Dam project. The donation activity was initiated by the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia's Chamber of Commerce. A speech was delivered by Sun Guoqiang, general manager of China Overseas Construction Group. It is unclear which and how many Chinese companies contributed to this donation.
