Full Description

Project narrative

On January 3, 2019, Chinese officials met with the World Food Program (WFP) representative to South Sudan and donated USD 7 million to bolster the WFP's food aid to South Sudan. On July 16, 2019, Chinese officials and the WFP held a ceremony at a girls' primary school in Juba to hand over food aid donated from China. The food donated included rice, oil, salt and beans, and would be distributed by the WFP. Most of the food donated would go to providing school meals for students. The total amount of the food donated is unknown.
