Description

On August 23, 2019, Chinese and South Sudanese officials signed an exchange of letters for China to aid South Sudan in the construction of 47 boreholes, a project known as the South Sudan Water Supply Project. Feasibility studies for this project were held as early as January 2018. Chinese government is going to help build 47 drilling boreholes of which 32 are normal wells and the rest are hand pumps. The project will enable tens of thousands of South Sudanese to have access to clean water and medical services amid prevailing peace due to the signed peace deal.
