Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In November 2018, the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, INTEC) and the University of Heilongjiang signed an agreement to establish the country's first Confucius Institute at INTEC. This follows the institute's authorization by Hanban in February 2018. On May 30, 2019, the Confucius Center at INTEC was inaugurated. The newly established Confucius Center looks to bolster cooperation with Chinese academics, which first began with the establishment of Mandarin language classes at INTEC in 2008 (captured in Record ID#54864). The Confucius Institute offices are located second floor of the Eduardo Latorre Postgraduate building.
