Project narrative

On May 9th, 2018, the Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Yang Guangyu, turned over to the presidents of the Algerian Red Crescent and the Sahrawi Red Crescent Society a donation of 10 million Algerian Dinars from the Chinese Embassy in Algeria. The donation was intended to provide food aid for Saharawi refugees residing in the Western Algerian camps of Tindouf. The aid came just days before the start of Ramadan. The handover ceremony was attended by other dignitaries including the representatives of the World Food Program (WFP), the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Red Cross in Algeria, and the Spanish Red Cross.
