Description

In a 2011 List of Planned Priority External Loans (DRPPLN), the Government of Indonesia’s Planning Ministry (BAPPENAS) identified a potential $51 million China Eximbank loan for the Procurement of Diesel Electric Locomotives Project. The purpose of this project was to address the demand for locomotives to facilitate the transportation of passengers and goods on Java island. It would have involved the procurement of 30 locomotives of the DC/DC type (BB-202, CC-201, and CC203) and the latest AC/DC type (CC-204 and CC-202). It would have benefited the following locations: Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java (Java Island). This project is status-coded as a pledge because AidData has not identified any evidence that it ever resulted in a signed loan agreement (i.e. an official commitment) with China Eximbank.
