On December 21, 2004, the Ministry of Commerce of the Chinese government awarded the Cambodian road maintenance equipment project, known as 挖掘机和公路养护设备项目 in Chinese, to China National Machinery Import & Export Group Co., Ltd. (CMC). The bidding began on December 4, 2004, and CMC won out of a total of 8 companies.
