On June 1, 2011, the Chinese government donation of 300 Biodigesters worth RMB 400,000 to Cambodia was approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). According to the CDC, the project started on November 12, 2013, and was completed on June 2, 2014 ("Project/Program Information and Implementation Arrangements"). On June 16, 2014 the handover ceremony was held in Ta Keo Province, Cambodia. Wen Suoke, Deputy Governor of Takeo Province, Jietra, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia, Gao Bao, Director of the Animal Products and Health Bureau, and Song Xiaoguo, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia attended the ceremony ("援柬沼气设备项目举行交接仪式"). The equipment provided by China not only includes biogas production equipment, but also gas stoves and lighting lamps that use biogas. The use of local crop waste and livestock manure to produce biogas can help Cambodian farmers reduce wood use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve the quality of life of local farmers ("援柬沼气设备项目举行交接仪式").
