On April 18, 2018, the Chinese Government and Thailand Ministry of Commerce signed a project cooperation agreement in which the Chinese Government agreed in principle to finance four projects via loans from the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (see Umbrella Project ID #49339). The borrowing terms are unknown. The four projects would involve the joint development of cross-border special economic zones, upgrading of trade and logistics border facilities, business forums, and sub-regional rural e-commerce development. The implementation status of these four projects is also unknown.
