Project narrative

On 18 April 2017, government officials signed an exchange of letters in which China pledged to donate 2,600 tons of rice to Namibia throughout 2017 in response to drought-induced food shortages. The donation worth about N$40 million in Namibian dollars was completed by June 2017. The first rice donation from China to Namibia, in 2016, is captured in Record ID#52331.
