Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 24, 2018, the Chinese Embassy to Algeria donated 7 million Algerian Dinars to the Algerian Red Crescent Society (ARCS) for the purchase of a school bus for Algerian youth. The minibus was subsequently purchased by Algerian authorities for the community of Tahar Touati in Djelfa, a remote area where children would have to walk many miles to get to school. Yang Guangyu, the Chinese Ambassador, indicated that the funds were requested by ARC President Saida Benhabyles. The bus was expected to be used by the start of the 2018 school year, September 5, 2018.
