Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On December 1, 2008, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved the $2,898,500 Chinese government grant for a Feasibility Study Project on the Missing Link Section of Trans-Asia Railway in Cambodia, known as 柬埔寨境内巴登-斯诺尔缺失段可行性研究工作 in Chinese. The study was carried out by the China Railway Group. According to a CDC report, this project began on December 1, 2008, and was completed on December 30, 2009. This project was located in Banteay Meanchey and Battambang Province ("Project/Program Information and Implementation Arrangements"). The study has estimated a final cost at between $500 million and $600 million for the project, due primarily to the high number of bridges that would have to be built across the Mekong Delta and its many tributaries.
