Project narrative

On January 15, 2015, the Chinese embassy donated on behalf of the Chinese government $500,000 in cash, 15 pick-up trucks and 200 motorbikes worth $ 1 million, and 215 sets of medical protective equipment worth $354,000 thousand to Sierra Leone in response to the Ebola epidemic, according to the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone and Chinese Ministry of Commerce. These donations will help the Sierra Leonean government strengthen social mobilization, Ebola case management and surveillance. Ernest Bai Koroma,President of Sierra Leone, accepted the aid and Samura Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, signed the hand-over certificate.
