Project narrative

In 2002, China Eximbank reportedly provided a loan to Myanmar Posts and Telecommunication (MPT) — a state-owned enterprise in Myanmar — for a project to build 13,500-line-capacity digital auto-telephone exchange in 12 towns. The face value and borrowing terms of the loan are unknown. The proceeds of the loan were to be used by MPT to finance a $6.5 million commercial contract with China National Electronics Import and Export Shenzhen Company (CEIEC). This project was completed on March 20, 2002.
