Project narrative

In 2011, China granted 1 million USD for the provision of food aid to the World Food Programme (WFP) for emergency relief activities in North Korea, which was suffering from extreme food shortages. This was the first time the Chinese government specified that 1 million USD of its support for the WFP Emergency Food Assistance to Vulnerable Groups Project be directed to the DPRK. According to financial tracking service flow ID 88535 , the flow date is July 5, 2011. It is linked to Record ID#72146, $1m to the WFP for North Korea in 2012, and #73798, $1m in 2013. In 2011, the WFP secured a total of 38 million USD for North Korea.
