Project narrative

In November 2006, the government in Hunan Province, China, committed to donate a set of medical equipments to Sierra Leone when Sierra Leone's President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah visited Hunan Province during the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. In mid-August 2007, the equipments were delivered to Freetown, including 6 devices including X-ray machines, electrocardiographs, and digital ultrasonic diagnostic instruments. The medical equipments worth RMB 550,000. On September 5, 2007, the Chinese embassy held a handover ceremony for the donation of medical equipment from the Government of Hunan Province to the Government of Sierra Leone. Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Cheng Wenju, Political Counselor Wang Haitao, Business Counsellor Zhao Zhongqiu, Serbian President Kaba, Minister of Health Thomas, and local news media attended the handover ceremony.
