Project narrative

In 2017, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce provided 70 scholarships to Sierra Leone. On August 22, 2017, the Chinese embassy in Sierra Leone held a farewell ceremony for the students who received the scholarships. The Economic and Commercial Counselor Shen Xiaokai and the Deputy Minister of Communications attended the event and delivered speeches. According to the Chinese embassy, the number of Chinese students receiving the Ministry's scholarships increased from 10 in 2016 to 70 in 2017. The students will pursue master and doctorate degrees in different areas.
