Project narrative

On August 14, 2017, 30 staff from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Sierra Leone left for China to attend a seminar on medium and long-term economic planning. The National Development and Reform Commission of China will organize the seminar from August 16 to September 7, 2017 in Beijing. On August 2, 2017, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese embassy, Shen Xiaokai met with the 30 participants at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. In his remarks he told the participants that in December 2016, during their visit to China, President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma and the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Momodu Kargbo, the Chinese government officials met with them and the seminar was a result of the meeting. All participants were given free flight tickets from the Chinese embassy.
