Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

During the visit of the Chinese Minister of Culture Cai Wu to Vanuatu on August 14th, 2013, Cai Wu, on behalf of Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, handed over a batch of cultural equipment to Vanuatu Ministry of Internal Affairs (or 中国文化部向内政部赠送一批文化用品). The grant is worth 500,000 RMB, or 81,000 USD, ("Chinese Aid in the Pacific"). This is the first visit by a Chinese Minister of Culture to Vanuatu. During the talks, the two sides reached a consensus on holding a "Happy Spring Festival" in Vanuatu and training and cooperation in the field of intangible cultural heritage between the two countries ("蔡武率中国政府文化代表团首次访问瓦努阿图").
